According to VINPAS, in the past 10 years, the packaging industry in Vietnam is considered as one of the fast growing economic sectors in terms of scale and number of established enterprises.

It is estimated that the number of enterprises operating in the printing and packaging sector is around 2,000 units; In particular, the plastic packaging industry has the fastest growth rate of about 15%.

Vietnam's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2007 attracted a number of world-class companies and corporations to Vietnam to seek investment opportunities.

At this time, the government has also allowed 100% foreign-owned companies to operate in printing and packaging. This has brought many challenges for the packaging industry in Vietnam but on the other hand it is the driving force for companies in the packaging industry to improve Vietnam in terms of quality, productivity and technological innovation.

In the period up to 2011, the classification and equitization of state-owned enterprises that do not need to hold controlling shares has brought many changes and transformations for companies in the printing-capital sector. government.

Also in this period, the change of organizational structure of the company with personnel is the main reason for the second term of VINPAS for 10 years.

According to VINPAS, in the recent time, the process of urbanization has taken place rapidly with the appearance of a series of supermarkets to invest in Vietnam such as Aeon, Lotte, Big C .... and the use of packaged products has given the packaging industry more opportunities to grow.

However, in the context of new development, Vietnamese packaging enterprises also have many shortcomings such as lack of vision, unclear long-term strategy, poor management and lack of system, low productivity, source high quality human resources, severe financial deficiencies ...

Therefore, the objective of VINAPAS for the 2017-2022 term is to focus on useful and timely information for member enterprises on new issues for businesses related to the 4.0 revolution. . These are information about materials, techniques, technology, equipment; and new issues such as automation, digital ...

VINPAS also promotes consulting activities so that members can improve and raise productivity and productivity, creating important leverage to promote sustainable development. Systematic management, especially in accordance with the international standard system, as this is an important premise for enterprises to join the global value chain.
