Banacon Island, November 25, 2017. The Kanepackage Group of companies represented with its affiliates again showed its support in helping the coastal environment by planting mangroves as is the way to return the environment.
- With customers from Japan and KGS Philippines Corporation this year, the group has traveled about 25 minutes from the port of Getafe to the plantation site. A total of 500 pieces of mangrove rhizophora were planted alongside the local people of Banacon. The Kanepackage Group has been carrying out environmental rehabilitation projects of this type for over 9 years. With the participants growing every year and working continuously with the Philippine national government, Kanepackage is serious about helping to counteract the unforeseen effects of climate change.
Participants also took the time to relax and took the opportunity to visit some of Bohol's famous tourist spots. While having a sumptuous buffet at the Loboc River restaurant, they love the views of riverbanks and waterfalls. Some participants have had the opportunity to dance with local people as a way of welcoming visitors at home and abroad. Their next stop is the Tarsier Reserve. Participants are given the opportunity and take a closer look at those who make money, named locally as "mamag", "mago" or "magao." Tarsier is a nightlife, working at night and resting during the day. That's why most snapshots of them are asleep.
The Bohol trip will not be complete without stopping and witnessing the spectacular views of the Chocolate Hills at Carmen, Bohol. It is 52 km from Tagbilaran city. It is famous for its unified shapes (about 30-50 meters high) and the natural landscape of the mountains. It is described as chocolate hills, because it occurs at the end of the dry season (May).
This tourism and mangrove afforestation activity is an annual event of the company, aiming to promote solidarity and friendship in helping to save our planet Earth.
